Climate change could make winters more unpredictable. It could also make your winter heating bills more unpredictable, particularly if you live at the end of long and vulnerable fuel supply chains.
The price of liquefied petroleum gas, a major U.S. export, has soared recently in Asia, a remarkable development given falling crude oil prices. Prices of Brent crude, the main global benchmark, are down about $9 a barrel, or about 10%, since mid-September. But Asian LPG propane prices are only 3% lower, according to Argus Media data, trading around $665 per tonne in late November.
