Microsoft shares rose more than 5% on Tuesday after the company announced a new artificial intelligence subscription service for Microsoft 365: The company will charge users an additional $30 per month for using the Generative AI with tools like Teams, Excel, and Word.

Adding subscription to Copilot, a generative AI assistant that runs on Microsoft 365 programs, is expected to cost enterprise users an additional 50% or more per month. Copilot’s capabilities would include meeting summaries, spreadsheet data analysis and presentation design, but the tool is currently in the early stages of testing and is not yet available to the public.

The updates come as the race to deliver consumer-focused generative AI tools heats up among tech giants like Microsoft, GoogleIBM and more.

The company also announced a important Bing Chat update, its AI chatbot, Tuesday: visual search. Users can now take or upload a photo to Bing Chat and request more information about it through the Bing desktop or apps.
