Totaled Tesla Cybertrucks Are Already Going Up For Auction – Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA)

Wrecked Tesla Inc TSLA Cybertrucks have been hitting salvage auctions.

At least two were posted online by Insurance Auto Auctions Inc., according to Electrek.

In one collision example, the front trunk is pushed up, the driver’s side fender is crumpled, and several minor components are damaged.

Although it appears to be a slightly more serious fender bender, assessing the underlying structural components could reveal more extensive issues.

Considering the Cybertruck’s price of around $120,000 and the vehicle having less than 4,000 miles, it seems surprising that it would be totaled by this damage.

The second Cybertruck, with just 26 miles on the odometer, is labeled a flood vehicle. This raises questions, as the flood line indicator is below the door sill.

Despite Elon Musk‘s claims that the Cybertruck is “waterproof enough to serve briefly as a boat,” and its “wade mode” that allows it to ford water up to 31 inches deep, it appears that the truck did not fare well in the water. It’s unclear whether the truck sat in water for an extended period or if it was delivered to a customer before the flood incident.
