Tesla Ramping Up Cybertruck Production To Touch 2,500 Units Per Week: Non-Foundation Series To Start Shipping Soon – Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA)

Tesla Inc TSLA CEO Elon Musk said on Thursday that the company has touched a weekly production record of 1,300 Cybertrucks. The company is now ramping production further to touch 2,500 units per week by the end of the year.

Cybertruck Production Ramp: Tesla started delivering its Cybertruck in late November and has since then been attempting to ramp up production. The company aims to deliver 250,000 Cybertrucks a year eventually, starting in 2025.

For now, Tesla has touched a weekly production rate of 1,300 Cybertrucks, Musk said at Tesla’s annual shareholder meeting on Thursday. The company is looking to increase it further this year to touch 2,500 units by year-end.

Availability In Foreign Markets: The Tesla Cybertruck is currently limited to the U.S. market. When asked if the company intends to make it international, Musk on Thursday said that it was designed for the American market and a redesign would be needed for foreign markets like Europe and China.

“We might be able to get it certified for other markets sometime next year. For this year, it’s just North America,” Musk said while adding that other markets won’t be considered until the company achieves volume production.

Foundation Series To End Soon: The company will stop the production of the foundation series Cybertruck soon and start shipping non-foundation series Cybertruck starting the next quarter, Musk said without giving a particular number of how many foundation series vehicles the company intends to manufacture.

The Foundation series refers to the first few Cybertrucks manufactured by the company.

Variants And Pricing: The Tesla Cybertruck is the latest offering from the EV giant and also the most eye-grabbing owing to its stainless steel exterior and angular design. The vehicle pricing starts at $79,990 for the all-wheel drive version and $99,990 for the more premium Cyberbeast version.

A lower-priced rear-wheel drive version of the truck will be available in 2025, as per the company website, starting at $60,990.
