How to Qualify for an Amex Delta Card Welcome Bonus

To qualify for a Delta SkyMiles® American Express card, you will likely need a good credit score, which is a FICO® score of 670 or higher. However, your credit score isn’t the only thing that matters. American Express also considers your income, employment status and history with American Express.

Remember, American Express only allows you to earn the welcome bonus for a specific credit card once per lifetime. This means that if you’ve previously had the Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express Card, for example, you won’t be able to earn the welcome bonus again. However, each Delta card is a different product, so having one card won’t automatically bar you from earning an introductory bonus on a different Delta card.

Before you apply for any card, it’s important to make sure you can responsibly meet the minimum spending requirement to earn the bonus miles. Only spend what you typically would—don’t rack up debt trying to earn these bonuses.

Qualifying for a Delta Business Card

You don’t need a massive corporation to qualify for a Delta business credit card. If you have a side hustle selling on Etsy or eBay or a freelance gig, you may be eligible. And if you’re in the early stages of starting a business, you may be eligible for a card with little or no business income.

Gather all the necessary information about your business before you apply for a business card:

  • Business address
  • Income
  • Employer Identification Number (EIN). If you don’t have an EIN, you can apply for one for free online.
  • Sole proprietors can use their Social Security Number as their business tax ID.

Bottom Line

Delta American Express credit cards offer welcome bonus offers worth up to 110,000 bonus miles. There are now six different business and personal Delta cards with elevated offers, so there’s likely to be a card that fits your needs. As always, ensure that you’re eligible for the bonus offer and that you can comfortably meet the card’s minimum spending requirements before applying.
