Vistra to Join S&P 500 Index, Replacing Pioneer Natural Resources

Vistra, a Texas-based electric utility and power producer, will join the S&P 500 index before the start of trading on Wednesday.

It will replace Pioneer Natural Resources, the oil and gas company purchased by Exxon Mobil on Friday.

The index changes were announced after the close of trading Friday by S&P Dow Jones Indices. All the changes will occur on Wednesday.

Vistra, whose shares finished Friday at $81.49, has doubled in price this year, valuing the company at $27 billion.
