ZyberVR’s Quest 2 Prescription Lenses

Simple in concept, ZyberVR’s Quest 2 Prescription Lenses are accessories that are arguably the most meaningful for a specific breed of VR users; those that wear glasses.

Arguably the most meaningful for a specific breed of VR users

Despite the lenses of a VR headset being next to your eyes while in use, it is important to note that your vision within the virtual space is the same as outside of it, short-sightedness and all. Therefore, you will have to wear your glasses within your headset if you are to have any chance of seeing what you are doing in the virtual space. This creates a multitude of problems: uncomfortableness, glasses steaming up, and risking scratches to both your headset and lenses.

Simply put ZyberVR’s Quest 2 Prescription Lenses are game-changing. They streamline the experience of VR for those who are visually impaired in a way that no other product does, removing any difficulties that may arise when using glasses in a headset. Virtual reality is more comfortable, more enjoyable and, above all, more immersive with the benefits of the prescription lenses.

There is something to be said about the versatility and ease of use that comes with the prescription lenses as well. They are intuitive and simple to install onto a headset, with the base that comes with the lenses snapping onto the Meta Quest 2’s lenses without obstructing or damaging the eye pieces. From there the actual prescription lenses can be attached to their respective bases via magnets installed on the frame meaning they are easily removable for when someone not on the wearer’s prescription uses the headset.

If any user is struggling to use their glasses within their headset, this product is highly recommended

An additional benefit of these lenses is the option to have them with a blue light filter installed. This allows for VR gaming to be less harsh on the eyes, especially during late night sessions of use. Not necessary to their intended function, this feature is still much appreciated and gives purpose to the accessory outside of helping the visually impared.

While not much more can be said about them, these accessories are perfect for their use, and straight to the point. ZyberVR’s Quest 2 Prescription Lenses are intuitively designed and incredibly effective accessories for the Meta Quest 2. If any user is struggling to use their glasses within their headset, this product is highly recommended.

3-In-1 Multipurpose Handles

ZyberVR’s 3-In-1 Multipurpose Handles are a great solution to making these games more immersive

When considering VR games like Beat Sabre and Gorilla Tag, a distinct flaw in the design of the Meta Quest 2 is how immersive the controllers are. While incredibly ergonomic and designed to fit the hands perfectly, for these types of games it feels as though your reach in the virtual reality is different to your reach in reality, specifically because the controllers are so well designed to fit the hand.

ZyberVR’s 3-In-1 Multipurpose Handles are a great solution to making these games more immersive. In essence batons with controller holders extend the reach of a player’s hand mimicking the sabres of the games that they are designed for. This makes many movements in the game, such as swiping and slashing feel more natural to the player and allows for a more fluid gaming experience.

Being made of comfortable materials they are very easy to hold

The design philosophy of these grips cannot be ignored either. Being made of comfortable materials they are very easy to hold while having enough traction to remain secure in the player’s hands. Moreover, the spiral design that is embedded into the handles is not purely aesthetic, as both grips can combine into a staff like mode where this spiral embossing allows for the grips to move around in the player’s grasp smoothly and without stressing their wrists

One element that felt missing from the grips were trigger extenders. On the Meta Quest 2 selections are made using the controller as a pointer and its triggers as the confirmation. As the grips put the standard button configuration of the controllers out of reach, it becomes more cumbersome to make selection when in game. Therefore, having these additions would have made the grips more accessible and convenient for use.

Intelligently designed and more than up to the task

As part of the testing for this product, the durability was tested. Under any regular use, and even purposefully strenuous tests ZyberVR’s 3-In-1 Multipurpose Handles are very readily designed for the challenges that they are put against. They secure the controller well and provide more than adequate protection and strength under rigorous use.

While the usability pool of this product is not for everyone, for those that are looking for a way to expand their enjoyment and play options in games like Beat Sabre, ZyberVR’s 3-In-1 Multipurpose Handles are an excellent choice. Intelligently designed and more than up to the task they are a good pick amongst their competition.

ZyberVR’s Streaming and Charging Cable

ZyberVR’s Streaming and Charging Cable provides a seamless streaming experience

While the expectation of a charging cable is to work consistently and effectively in providing power to a battery-run device, when considering a virtual reality headset the charging cable is all the more important. As the port through which a VR headset like the Meta Quest 2 charges is the same as the one it interfaces with a PC through, a cable of this regard needs to also consider the data transfer speeds it is capable of alongside the power it can provide.

In terms of these transfer speeds, ZyberVR’s Streaming and Charging Cable provides a seamless streaming experience. There is no lag from PC to headset when utilising the cable providing for an immersive gaming experience regardless of what is occurring. The 2-in-1 head providing both a male USB-A and USB-C connector supports this allowing not only a range of devices to be used as a source of streaming, but ensures that the best transfer speeds are always possible.

This purposeful design for streaming games from a PC setup also extends to other aspects of the cable. The USB-C connector for the VR headset is angled at 90-degrees to the rest of the cable. Having this consideration means the cable is kept flush with the headset when in use and does not become invasive when the user is partaking in intensive movements. Furthering this, the long range of the cable (16ft) ensures that there is always reach for any reasonable distance the user will be moving away from their source device.

The long range of the cable ensures that there is always reach for any reasonable distance

One issue that was found in the potential of ZyberVR’s Streaming and Charging Cable is an occasional entanglement of the wires. As games like Beat Sabre and Gorilla Tag require extensive motion from the user, it is possible for them to become entangled within the cable. While better than most in this regard, ZyberVR’s product still suffers from this issue having points in the cable that can become ‘knotted’ if not careful. It seems the product was designed for this however. The material the cable is made from is durable yet flexible meaning even if it bends or twists during play the wires within will not be damaged or at risk of splitting open and fraying. This is an appreciated design consideration.

It is certainly superior despite some possible improvements that could be made

ZyberVR’s Streaming and Charging Cable is not just for streaming however, as it is also a charging cable. One potential issue user’s may encounter with an Meta Quest 2 is being unable to charge and stream simultaneously with most standard cables. This product, therefore, circumvents this issue by providing a secondary charging port in its “voltage intensifier” that can be plugged into a power source. Including this allows users to both stream from their device and charge their headset simultaneously, allowing for extended sessions of use.

While more expensive than some contemporaries, ZyberVR’s Streaming and Charging Cable offers many features that justify the higher price margin. Many design considerations are made solely for ease of use and improvements to the VR experience and as far as cables are concerned, it is certainly superior despite some possible improvements that could be made.
