said Thursday evening that Chief Operating Officer Christopher T. Calio will succeed Gregory J. Hayes as chief executive at the aerospace and defense company’s shareholder meeting scheduled for May 2. Hayes will continue to serve as RTX’s executive chairman, and Calio has also been named to the company’s board of directors effective Thursday, the company said. The change of direction was planned. RTX was formerly known as Raytheon.
