Japanese stocks are up at the close of trading; Nikkei 225 up 0.66%

Investing.com – Japanese stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, with gains in , and sectors leading stocks higher.

At the close in Tokyo, the stock rose 0.66%.

The best performers of the session on the were Sumitomo Real Estate and Development Co. (TYO:), which rose 8.08% or 391.00 points to trade at 5,232.00 at the close. In the meantime, Tokyo Tatemono Co., Ltd. (TYO:) added 7.34% or 162.50 points to end at 2,377.50 and Tokyo Fudosan (TYO:) was up 5.83% or 64.50 points at 1,170.50 in late trading.

The worst performers of the session were Pacific Metals Co., Ltd. (TYO:), which fell 3.17% or 44.00 points to trade at 1,346.00 at the close. Terumo Corp. (TYO:) fell 2.65% or 154.00 points to end at 5,654.00 and Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. (TYO:) was down 2.55% or 21.10 points at 807.80.

Rising stocks outpaced falling ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange 2,541 to 1,098, with 237 ending unchanged.

Sumitomo Realty & Development Co. (TYO:) shares hit all-time high; gaining 8.08% or 391.00 to 5,232.00. Shares of Tokyo Tatemono Co., Ltd. (TYO:) hit a 5-year high; gaining 7.34% or 162.50 to 2,377.50. Tokyu Fudosan (TYO:) shares hit all-time high; gaining 5.83% or 64.50 to 1,170.50.

The index, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, fell 0.49% to 20.23.

Crude oil for May delivery fell 0.22% or 0.18 to $81.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery fell 0.22% or 0.19 to $86.70 a barrel, while April gold futures fell by 0.26% or 5.55 to trade at $2,158.75 per troy ounce.

USD/JPY rose 0.78% to 150.30, while EUR/JPY rose 0.73% to 163.36.

U.S. dollar index futures rose 0.18% to 103.43.
