Midday movers: Tesla, Coinbase, Fisker, and more By Investing.com

Investing.com – Major U.S. indexes fell on the last trading day of 2023, moving away from their recent highs. Megacap tech ended the year on a sour note but was among the best performing groups overall this year.

Here are some of the biggest U.S. stock moves today:

Fisker (NYSE:) stock soared 18% after announcing a plan to speed up sales and deliveries. Fisker also revealed plans to increase the number of road test events held in the United States and Europe.

Lyft (NASDAQ:) fell after analysts at Nomura/Instinet downgraded the stock’s rating from “neutral” to “reduce” with a $13 price target, citing challenging fundamentals.

Uber (NYSE:) fell after Nomura/Instinet analysts lowered the stock’s rating from “neutral” to “buy” with a $62 price target, citing valuation and lack of catalysts.

Jabil (JBL) stock fell 1% after lowering its forecast for the second quarter.

Shares of Coinbase (NASDAQ:) gave up recent gains, falling 7% as the price of Bitcoin fell slightly. Marathon Digital (NASDAQ:) stock was down 12%, Microstrategy (NASDAQ:) was down 5.5%, and Riot Platforms (NASDAQ:) was down 11%.

Tesla (NASDAQ:) stock fell 2.1%, falling for the second straight day ahead of the release of production and delivery figures next week. It was the worst performing Mag 7 stock, followed by Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:), down 1.4%.

Upstart Holdings (NASDAQ:) fell 9% as investors sold high-volatility stocks due to risk aversion.
