Police in the city of Revere were investigating after one person was shot outside of a Stop & Shop grocery store on Squire Road on Tuesday evening.The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. outside the front of the store located next to Route 1. Police revealed few details about the incident, but surveillance video recorded by a Tesla parked nearby and obtained by WCVB shows a confrontation between a man in an SUV and a person outside of the vehicle. The confrontation escalates, with the person inside of the vehicle eventually getting out of the car, eventually pointing what appeared to be a weapon and shooting the man. The witness in the Tesla said the man was shot in the stomach. He ran into the store for help, as the shooter jumped back into the black SUV, fleeing the scene, witnesses said. Police blocked off the entrance to the Stop & Shop, blocking shoppers from going inside while they investigated.Police said the shooting did not appear to be random. The investigation was ongoing.In a written statement, Stop & Shop said it was aware of what it described as an “unfortunate incident” that took place outside its Revere store.”We’re cooperating with the police in their investigation,” Stop & Shop said. “The safety of our associates and customers is a top priority for us, and we are thankful for local law enforcement and first responders for their swift response.”The company said the store was back open for shoppers.
