NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 GPUs To Tackle AMD RX 6750 GRE Cards With Lower Prices

NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3060 GPUs are here to stay for a while as the card is likely to receive new price cuts to tackle AMD offerings in the budget segment.

NVIDIA Wants To Position GeForce RTX 3060 As The Most Competitive Budget Gaming Option In Chinese Markets, Tackles AMD Radeon With Lower Prices

NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3060 GPUs are very popular amongst mainstream and budget gamers but the green team and its partners had planned to phase out the card in favor of the RTX 4060 GPU series. Those plans have now taken a backseat as growing competition from AMD’s recent Radeon products such as the RX 6750 GRE series has prompted NVIDIA to move the EOL period of the RTX 3060 GPUs back by a bit.

You might be wondering why NVIDIA chose the GeForce RTX 3060 amongst all the others, given that they could have opted for another SKU. Well, the answer to this is simple, the price segment at which the GPU is currently available in the Chinese markets is considered a “sweet” spot for gamers, and the marketplace listings show that the GPU is available within the 2000 RMB range. Moreover, the RTX 3060 has dominated Steam rankings in the past as well, which shows that the SKU has been widely adopted by both global and Chinese consumers.

Moreover, NVIDIA has to stay consistent with rivals’ offerings, and the release of the AMD Radeon RX 6750 GRE definitely heated up this market segment as those cards are priced around 2219-2379 RMB, which is why the company felt it best to retain production temporarily. Based on what we have seen, the Radeon RX 6750 GRE dominates over the “newer” GeForce RTX 4060 Ti in terms of rasterization & higher memory capacities, and NVIDIA doesn’t have a “compelling” offering within the price segment at which the RX 6750 GRE comes at. Hence the decision to continue retailing the GeForce RTX 3060 does seem sensible here.

Also, it is expected that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 GPUs will receive some price cuts too to bring the pricing in the sub-2000 RMB range and closer to the $200 US figure. This is a market where the Intel Arc lineup has also shown competitive performance figures with the Arc A750 being a strong product in this price range. We can expect the price change to take place in the coming weeks close to the holiday season.
