Gamers on the lookout for a $1,000 gaming laptop with current-gen hardware will be pleased to know that the Acer Nitro 17’s price has dropped to Amazon (US$999) thanks to the ongoing Cyber Monday sale. According to CamelCamelCamel, it is the cheapest laptop ever on Amazon.
The Acer Nitro 17 is powered by an 8-core/16-thread AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS Zen 4 processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 (8 GB VRAM). Unfortunately, we were unable to test this particular model, but our in-depth review of the XMG Apex 15 (Ryzen 7 7840HS + RTX 4050) should give you a rough idea about how the Acer Nitro 17 will perform in the real world.
Other specs include 16 GB of DDR5 4800 RAM, a 1 TB NVMe SSD, and a 90 Wh battery that charges at 330 Watts. The Acer Nitro 17 features a colossal 17.3-inch QHD (2,560 x 1,440) IPS LCD panel with Nvidia G-sync support. Nvidia Optimus lets you seamlessly switch between the dGPU and iGPU for extended battery life. For connectivity, there is Wi-Fi 6E, an RJ45 Ethernet jack, Bluetooth 5.1, a HDMI cable, two USB-A ports, and two USB-C ports.
